Reflecting on Nine Months of StoryVerse Land

A Founder’s Reflection on the First Chapter of Stories for Children
“My boy loves it a lot. He reads it again every day.”
That sentence stayed with me longer than most numbers ever could.
It has been about nine months since StoryVerse Land officially went live. While it may sound like a simple milestone, it carries over two years of dreaming, planning, creating, editing, and constantly second-guessing ourselves about whether we were building something that would truly resonate.
This isn’t a recap. It’s a reflection on what these first nine months have quietly taught us as we've built something for children and families.
While I’m not one to take stock for the sake of it, the team and I have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to reach this point in our story.
The stories we’ve brought to life, the parents and partners we’ve connected with, and the small moments that spark new ideas — these are what surface as we reflect on this first chapter with our growing reading community.
From Four Books to Twelve Personalised Children’s Books
When StoryVerse Land launched in April 2025, we started with four personalised children’s books available for purchase.
Today, including our Christmas titles, there are twelve books live on our site.
Some of these stories were already in progress before this year as we built up our library before launch. Others took shape under timelines that stretched and stressed out the team more than we expected.
We battled so many things – characters’ hairstyles, illustrations, colour schemes and repeated until everything felt right on the page. We spent many hours carefully on the details so each story would feel special and meaningful for families.
For a small team, completing twelve storybooks feels meaningful. Each book reflects our care for quality, emotions, and your child’s reading experience. As our books are personalised, the editorial and technical teams worked closely to make sure each story came together beautifully, under any situation. I couldn’t be prouder of the team we built, and the care they bring to every book.
Early Responses From Parents and Young Readers
One of the biggest unknowns at launch was how parents and children would respond to our stories.
So far, the feedback we have received has been steady and reassuring, often in very simple ways. Parents have told us that their children return to the same stories again and again, or that their child now looks for a chameleon in the garden every day. A clear sign that something has connected.
That kind of response matters to us. Not because it sounds impressive, but because repetition is its own form of approval.
Children don’t reread what doesn’t connect.
As a brand creating personalised books for children, these moments tell us more than metrics ever could. We’re still listening closely, still refining, and still learning what truly resonates at storytime.
Stories Beyond Borders: Ukrainian Language Books
One of the quieter but most humbling parts of this journey has been making selected titles available online in Ukrainian.
Through our partnership with Stories with Clever Hedgehog, these digital storybooks were shared as a resource for Ukrainian children and families. There was no campaign around this decision, just the belief that stories should be accessible. Especially for children navigating uncertainty.
Hearing that these books were being read, shared, and used reminded us of something easy to forget when you’re deep in production schedules: stories are not extras. For some children, they are anchors — familiar, steady, and comforting.
Storytelling Sessions and Meeting Our Community
This year, we also stepped into shared spaces.
We held two storytelling sessions — one in person and one online for Children’s Day in India. They were small, imperfect, and deeply grounding. Watching children listen, respond, and engage with stories in real time reshaped how we think about pacing, language, and connection.
We also spoke to young budding writers as they worked their way to become a published author and we were so happy to join them at their book launch at the 23rd Pune Book Fair 2025 on 30 October 2025.
We are currently exploring storytelling sessions, pop-ups, and collaborations across Singapore, India, and Switzerland. If you’re exploring ways to bring storytelling into your community, feel free to reach out and start a conversation with us at content@StoryVerseLand.com

Making Ripples, One Story at a Time
At the heart of StoryVerse Land is a belief I’ve carried for a long time: when children learn to love reading early, they’re far more likely to remain readers for life.
Reading becomes a safe place they can return to for curiosity, comfort, imagination, and quiet joy. Building that relationship early matters.
I was introduced to books when I was young, reading under the blanket long after I was supposed to be asleep. That habit stayed with me. Today, I carry a book or Kindle wherever I go. And I’ve watched my niece lose entire afternoons inside a story of her own. Because we know, no matter what, our books will always be there for us when we need them.
Therefore, everything we do at StoryVerse Land, from personalised children’s books to storytelling sessions, is rooted in this belief.
When we see children returning to the same stories, or families making space for reading in their everyday routines, it feels like a small ripple moving outward.
This year, some of those quiet ripples travelled further than we expected. StoryVerse Land was named a Parents’ Picks Awards 2025 Winner, with recognition in both Best Preschool Products and Best Elementary Kids Products. For us, that signalled trust from parents, educators, and caregivers choosing stories to bring into everyday family life.
Victoria Defeats the Virus was also selected for The Big Bang Notable Book List 2025, and received a Bronze award in the Real World Resilience category. The recognition highlights stories that help children navigate real-world challenges with clarity and compassion, offering language for uncertainty, and reassurance without fear.
These moments of recognition weren’t the goal. But together, they quietly affirmed something we care deeply about: that stories can meet children where they are. Whether they’re discovering the joy of reading, or trying to understand a world that sometimes feels complicated.
One story at a time, those ripples continue.
Looking Ahead, Without Rushing the Ending
We are looking forward to meeting more parents and children, listening more closely, bringing more personalised books to life and continuing to shape stories that feel meaningful in real homes.
Nine months in, StoryVerse Land still feels like it’s becoming itself.
We’re on the way, learning how to grow without losing what matters most along the way. We are so glad you are here with us on this journey.
As always, reach out to us at hello@storyverseland.com if you have something to share with us – bouquets, brickbats, or a new story idea. We are always happy to hear from our community.
