From Dream to StoryVerse Land: What Sparked Our Magical Beginning

A Dream. A Festival. And the Beginning of Our Story
About a year ago, we attended the Asian Festival of Children’s Content (AFCC) for the very first time. Back then, StoryVerse Land wasn’t yet live, just a collection of ideas, half-coded pages, and a whole lot of hope. We walked in looking for clarity and left with conviction. It almost felt like we were living a Nike slogan, except our motto was “Just create it.”
A year later, we attended the AFCC again—this time as StoryVerse Land. We were quietly, joyfully proud of how far we’d come.
So, what Is StoryVerse Land?
Their name and their appearance are woven into the narrative. From dinosaurs to magical forests, they get to be in the story and walk among the characters and worlds the authors and illustrators create for them.
We are storytellers, illustrators, parents, and readers who are on a mission to spark imagination and create meaningful reading moments with your child. Whether you’re gifting a book, reading at bedtime, or starting a reading journey with your child, we hope these stories become part of your family’s most treasured moments.
From February 2024 to April 2025: What We Built
Over the course of the year, we have achieved a lot:
~ Built our platform from the ground up
~ Tested countless personalisation technical flows and tech stacks
~ Found and partnered with great authors and illustrators
~ Many iterations of our logo
~ Used up an entire giant box of Post-its as we wrote ideas, thoughts and plans on them at the beginning
~ Spent hours figuring out our shipping and printing plans for the world
On 14 April 2025, we finally launched the StoryVerse Land website. It went out into the world, and we were both nervous about putting our baby out into the world to be judged, but also excited to share this concept with you.
In the dead of the night, when we turned on the site, something quiet but magical happened. Because this was no longer just an idea on paper or in our heads, the dream had become real. It was a moment of truth that our statement of “we can create it” has turned into “we did it.”
Our first four books went live that day, but the one closest to the Dream Creator’s heart is Emily Explores the Dino Park.
It was the first book we began building, and the one that taught us the most about writing, tech, layout, editing, and heart. We learnt so much about what we can and cannot do from that book, and we are glad that the illustrator, Rohit Kar, was willing to go through all that trial and error with us.

Writing About Social Concerns for Children
This panel addressed tough yet important topics, such as homelessness. As a brand focused on joy and imagination, we also believe in authenticity and representation. When the time comes, we want to tell stories that don’t shy away from reality and to approach it with sensitivity and care.
This talk gave us a framework to start thinking about how.
"Books open the door to curiosity. Without them, we grow one- dimensional-but with them, children begin to see the world in full colour. When they see themselves in stories they love, they don't just read - they grow. They dream bigger, feel deeper, and believe they can be part of something magical."
Representation Matters—And So Does a Little Magic
When children see themselves reflected in the pages of a book, when they become the main character of the adventure, it’s not just exciting. It’s transformative.
Stories help build confidence, spark empathy, and encourage imagination. And when those stories are made just for them, children begin to believe they truly belong in the worlds they read about.
At StoryVerse Land, we don’t just make books.
We make magic tailored to the hearts of young readers.
Because every child deserves to be seen.
Every child deserves to be celebrated.
Every child deserves to be the hero of their own story.
Our Story Is Just Beginning
